Petraeus

General Petraeus is currently the commander of the American Army in the Middle East. He suddenly collapsed while he was attending a hearing of the Senate Committee for Armed Services on Tuesday, 15th June 2010. The incident occurred when he was answering to the committee in connection with some questions asked by Senator R. Ariz and John McCain about the war on terror in Afghanistan. His sudden collapse and faintness took every one by surprise. Everyone immediately approached to his help but he gathered his strength and went out of the committee room after the incident. He was back before the Senate Committee after few minutes and told the cause of his collapse being dehydration. But the Senators postponed the hearing till next day.

The news of General David Petraeus spread like a wild fire throughout the world. The electronic and cyber media released the footage of the collapse in the middle of their regular transmission as breaking news. According to the spokesperson of the While House, the President inquired about the health of the General and believed that the Commander was fine. During the hearing of the Senate Committee, Senator McCain showed his reservation about the direction of the war in Afghanistan. He also talked about the withdrawal of the US forces from the war torn country and was not impressed by the explanation of the General.

David Howell Petraeus was born on 7th November 1952 and joined the US Army in 1974. During his service career, he performed his duties in several positions and participated in multiple army operations. Besides, his academic background is also excellent. He has won many medals for his academic and professional education. He has done his PhD in International Relations. With his sheer hard work and professional excellence, he has risen to the position of four stars General.
