Obama chose the oval office to deliver a speech on environmental crisis caused by spill and the need to switch to clean energy at an accelerated pace. He told the nation that he will make BP to pay for the damages but failed to tell them how much, when and in which manner?

Obama Speech was a disappointing rhetoric delivered in a manner to gain support for the proposed reform bill. People are wondering why the Govt. has been delaying to intervene the situation. The Govt. could have capped the gusher by hiring other companies and the expenses could have been retrieved from BP.

Obama speech failed to meet the expectations of Louisiana residents and the people engaged in fishing business. People think Obama has failed to respond to the crisis just like George Bush had failed to respond to Katrina. He was emphasizing the need to switch to clean energy at the earnest.

Switching to clean energy is not a short term task it will require trillions of dollars and decades of effort. He should have addressed to the urgent and foremost task of compensating the affected people. He announced that he is going to talk with the management of BP. It would have been wise of him if he would have appeared before nation after finalizing the compensation plan with BP.
