Keisuke Honda Scores Big Time

Japan won the match with Cameroon in the FIFA World Cup. This match was in Group-E and the teams looked very enthused to be playing. The victory for Japan was due to score one to zero and was celebrated to a great deal on Japan’s part. The only goal scored in the match was done by Keisuke Honda who turned out to be a real hero for his nation.

Winning this match proved to be a great and fruitful victory for Japan because of two reasons. First is that this is Japan’s first win in the world cup in another country, the second is that because of this victory Japan would be at the top of Group-E because of its performance. Being on top of Group-E means that it would equal the position of Netherlands. Netherlands defeated Denmark in a beautiful victory of two to zero on Monday.

The amazing goal happened after a very boring thirty minutes after the starting of the match. In the 39th minute Daisuke Matsui made a beautiful curling cross that gracefully skipped the two defenders of Cameroon standing in the way and reached Keisuke Honda who was standing at the back post waiting for the ball. The curling cross was very skillful and technical. It passed the defenders Stephane Mbia and Nicolas Nkoulou in such a way that they weren’t even able to touch it. When the ball reached Honda he seemed very calm and drove the ball with such smoothness that he didn’t seem the least bit nervous. As he moved towards the goal he made the shot seeing that there was no one near the goal but Hamidou Souleymanou the goalkeeper. The shot was flawless and it hit the net with absolute grace.
