Kobe Bryant wife, Vanessa Laine, was a teenaged school-going girl when she met Bryant in 1999. At that time, she was performing in a music video ‘G’d Up’ as a dancer. They got emotionally involved and started dating, which resulted in their engagement in the year 2000. In order to avoid media attention, she left the school and started studying independently. Vanessa Laine, Kobe Bryant wife, was very happy with the emotional attachment and never asked for any prenuptial agreement. Later on, the lovebirds got married in California on the 18th of April 2001 but his parents, close relatives and his teammates did not attend the marriage ceremony. In the year 2003, Bryant was arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in a rape case. According to the allegation, he committed a sexual assault on a teenager employee of a hotel in Colorado, where he was staying in connection with his knee operation. The teenaged girl complained that the baseball star had raped her in his room prior to his surgery. In the custody of the investigators, he did not admit the allegation of rape but accepted that the act was done with mutual consent. This allegation badly damaged the reputation of the great player. However, the complainant did not testified and the prosecution closed the case in 2004.
