Recent earthquakes jolt California

‘Recent earthquakes’ is one of the most searched topics on the web today. This is because the earthquakes have hit Southern California and San Diego today. The earthquakes with the magnitude of 5.7 to 5.9 have hit this North American region according to the US Geological Survey earthquake consultants.

It seems that earthquakes have targeted the US because of an up-surge in the frequency of jolts in this region of the world. There have been a series of earth quakes in Chile, Haiti which claimed a huge number of lives and it seems that tumults below the earth’s crust have not subsided yet. People become frightened and come out of their houses even a slight tremor is felt.

Today earthquake seemed to have control over a baseball match between San Diego and the Toronto Blue Jays when an earthquake of 5.7 intensity hit Southern California at 9:30 PT.
This severe jolt was observed at San Diego, Los Angeles. There was a huge crowd present to watch the base ball game when the earthquake shook the stadium. The officials advised the spectators to keep it cool and not to panic otherwise a stampede might have claimed lives of people rather than the earthquake itself.

According to the US Geological Survey, CA earthquake had the magnitude of 5.7 and its epicenter was some five miles southeast of Ocotillo near Mexico. At the beginning, the earth quake had the magnitude of 5.9 jolting Southern California. Then two aftershocks of magnitude 3.2 and 3.9 also occurred. According to USGS, today’s earthquake had the depth of 4.3 miles below the earth’s crust.
