Prince of Persia, the $200m budgeted flick gets only $60m

‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’, the flick churned out whopping amount of headlines prior to hitting the screens. But once it was out, the whole expectations fell flat. The critics portrayed the real flaws of the movie and the audiences came to know what was it all about and how it was hyped but actually could not be shown accordingly on the celluloid.

The trade pundits had to get smacks after they predicted it to be a hit and box office success. The handsome turn out was witnessed on the opening day but the following days told the reality when the flick saw little amount of the cinegoers standing at the ticketing windows in theaters.

Directed by Mike Newell, the film stars the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley,
Alfred Molina and other big names of the fraternity. The flick has the tagline as Defy the Future. Two heads are put together to scribble down the screenplay, which happens to be the real life of any film. Boaz Yakin and Doug Miro dash off the script. The flick revolves around action, suspense, drama and romance.

The venture talks about a young fugitive prince and princess, who have to become a hurdle before a villain who unknowingly threatens to destroy the world with a special blade that enables the magic sand inside to reverse time.

Made with a whopping budget of $200 million, the movie collected unexpectedly very less collections from the box office. It got just $60 million in its first two weeks. The following days also do not claim to bag handsome collections from the screens. Would it be able to cover even the cost of the film? The time itself tells to us.
